10 Best Dressed at the Oscars

Happy Tuesday, y’all!

Who watched the Oscars this past Sunday?? I certainly did, it’s the biggest night in Hollywood! It’s like my version of the Super Bowl! I’m gonna be honest though, I was a little concerned as to how they were gonna pull it off without a host. It seems almost impossible to have a big awards show without a host, whether they’re super famous or not as famous. However, I was surprised. It turned out to be very entertaining, and not very controversial as far as I’m concerned!

My favorite parts of the night were Adam Lambert and Queen paying tribute to Bohemian Rhapsody, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper performing “Shallows”, Keegan-Michael Key descending from the ceiling like Mary Poppins, John Mulaney and Awkwafina awkwardly but hilariously presenting together, and Regina King’s beautiful speech. But honestly, nothing beats watching celebrities glam in up on the red carpet in beautiful fashion statements! It’s so exciting to see who’s wearing what and how well they can pull it off. I’m pleased to say I was very impressed this year. It was hard to choose only ten favorite looks for this blog post, there were so many that I really liked!

With that being said, here is my list of top ten best dressed at the Oscars!

1.) Constance Wu

I’m OBSESSED with that dress! Not many people can pull off a bright yellow, but Constance sure can! I’m totally getting Belle vibes, which I’m all for 💛

2.) Laura Harrier

This is very simple yet elegant all at once. I love the light blue shade, as well as the sparkly embroidery and jewelry. I also like her hot pink nails and blue eyeshadow. Laura looked absolutely gorgeous!

3.) Jennifer Hudson

I’m a sucker red dresses. It’s my favorite color and there’s many different red gowns that are stunning, especially this one worn by Jennifer Hudson. I love the ruffle sash and how one arm has a long sleeve and the other is strapless, it’s so unique and chic. She slays, both on the red carpet and on stage with her dynamite voice!

4.) Brie Larson

Brie’s silver dress and platinum blonde locks make a perfect style combo. Seeing her in this sparkly gown just makes me even more excited to see Captain Marvel in less than two weeks … this woman is a warrior in the Marvel Cinematic Universe AND the fashion industry!!

5.) Regina King

Not only did she give a beautiful acceptance speech (God certainly is good all the time 🙌🏻), but she looked stunningly beautiful in her white dress! I love the graceful train of the dress that flows perfectly, as well as the matching white pumps. This actually reminds me of a white prom dress I wore junior year to my prom, which is why it definitely makes my list for top favorite looks!

6.) Ashley Graham

Ashley Graham is one of my role models, so obviously I had to include her. It’s not even just her kindness and strong attitude that I love about her, but also her amazing fashion sense. This look is so timeless and elegant. The long black mermaid dress makes her look so glamorous, and even more with the beautiful diamond choker necklace fit for a queen because Ashley is always a killer queen!

7.) Jennifer Lopez

I just have to ask … how is this woman almost fifty-years old? She looks like she could be in her early thirties! She’s one of the few people of her age that can pull off this ravishing, chic dress. I’m not gonna lie though, it looks very heavy and uncomfortable despite how stunning it is. It also looks like a disco ball, perfect for a 70s party! 😂

8.) Julia Roberts

I’m OBSESSED with that hot pink goddess dress! It’s one of my favorite colors, and I just love the sexiness and elegance, as well as the matching sandal heels. Vivian Ward would definitely approve of this look. Julia will forever be a style icon!

9.) Tina Fey

The royal blue and flowing bottom are by far the best features of this outfit. That’s all I have to say, other than that she looks gorgeous AF. Period. I’d also be happy to sign a petition for her, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolph to host the Oscars next year together. How amazing would that be? Just wanting them present one award together was perfection!

10.) Leititia Wright

Some say this look is a tad boring. It may be my least favorite on this list, but I still think it’s very graceful and demure. I like the neutral colors, it makes the dress look timeless but not too old-fashioned. Plus, the leaf embroidery gives off a playful, youthful vibe in a way. Leitita looked so beautiful as always!
