Friday Favorites (Fall Edition)

Thank goodness it's finally Friday!

This week sure flew by! But of course, there was enough time to round up a few favorites of mine from the past few days and now is the perfect time to share with y'all. So before I kick off the weekend, I want to show you some finds that made this week more inspirational and happy, and I hope they are a great start to your weekend!

And in honor of the first official day of autumn in two days, I’m sharing all of my so-far fall favorites. It’s finally fall, y’all!

Favorite Scented Candle: "Flannel"

Flannel Candle.jpg

You know I'm a sucker for fall scented candles. Although I wish I had a full extra coupons when I made this purchase rather than buy it at full price, I do not regret it one bit. I love this candle, probably my favorite fall candle that I've ever owned! It's so cozy and warms the room with the scents of fresh bergamot and heirloom mahogany. It reminds me of crisp autumn air, or a freshly washed flannel!

Where To Buy: Bath & Body Works

Favorite Sweater: Raglan Sleeve Pullover

Altar'd State Campus Sweater.jpg

You guys, this sweater is AMAZING! The texture is so cozy and it's so stylish, absolutely perfect for autumn! I decided to try it on out of curiousity while shopping at the mall and immediately fell in love right away. I was like, "I have to get this", and so I did. I'm going to post a fashion blog about it very soon, so stay tuned to read more about it!

Where To Buy: Altar'd State

Favorite Book: Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone

IMG_9487.JPG

The entire Harry Potter series overall, including the movies, call out autumn thanks to the magic and wizardry. It especially speaks the spooky season when Harry and his friends start at Hogwarts in September and the Halloween feast a few chapters later (even the part with the troll creeping into the castle). And once you're finished with the book, you can read all the other books in the series from there!

Favorite Hand Wash: “Pumpkin Cupcake”

Pumpkin Cupcake.jpg

Bath & Body Works just happens to have some of the best scented soaps and lotion during the fall! I’m obsessing over this pumpkin cupcake scented hand wash at the moment. I smells so sweet and pure. I recently visited my grandparents in Lima and they had this in their bathroom. I think I used it at least five-ten times, and some of those times weren’t even for after going to the bathroom!

Where To Buy: Bath & Body Works

Favorite Song: “Old Shoes” by Adam Barnes

I don’t know why exactly, but this song reminds me of autumn for some reason. Probably because it’s smooth, peaceful, and something you would play while taking a walk in the crisp chill atmoshpere.

Friday Favorites (Week of August 27th)

Thank goodness it's finally Friday!

This week sure flew by! But of course, there was enough time to round up a few favorites of mine from the past few days and now is the perfect time to share with y'all. So before I kick off the weekend, I want to show you some finds that made this week more inspirational and happy, and I hope they are a great start to your weekend!

Favorite Notebook: Marble Journal with Gold Foil

Marble Notebook.jpg

This is one of my new notebooks for this semester. I love the marble print and the petite size, so I couldn’t resist buying it when I saw it. I’ve already taken so many notes in it for my classes!

Where To Buy: Target

Favorite Book: "The Light Within Me" by Ainsley Earhardt

The Light Within Me.jpg

I just finished reading this and I now consider Ainsley as a role model of mine. We have a lot in common, and her strong faith in Jesus is what makes her story so inspiring. I highly recommend reading this!

Favorite Shoes: Hot Pink Open-Toe Block Heel Mules

Gap Pink Heels.jpg

Mules are trending big time right now. I'm all for these hot pink block heels, they're so chic and adorable! It’s perfect for the remaining weeks of summer, especially for any Labor Day parties this weekend!

Favorite Art Exhibit: “Infinity Mirrors”

IMG_8677.JPG

A few weeks ago, me and girlfriends from work went to the “Infinity Mirrors” exhibit by Yayoi Kusama at the Cleveland Museum of Art. It was so amazing. What’s even more amazing is that it took the artist about 70-80 years to create! How crazy?! If you want to check it out and get that cool reflecting mirror selfie with all the lights like the one above, the exhibit is running till September 30. So book your ticket ahead of time and go before it’s too late!

Favorite Song: "Everybody's Lonely" by Jukebox the Ghost

It’s funny because the meaning of this song sounds kind of depressing if you listen to the lyrics carefully. But it’s so upbeat and catchy that it puts me in a good mood. Ironic, isn’t it?

Live Fearless.jpg

Y'all, this book is amazing. I'm not even halfway done reading it but it's already one of my favorite books! This is perfect for Christian college-aged and teen girls struggling with fear, insecurities, and anxiety. Sadie Robertson is a true inspiration and her empowering words should encourage everyone to overcome their biggest fears through the love of Jesus. I say in a world full of Kardashians, be a Sadie!

This is one of those powerful songs that gives you motivation and confidence no matter what kind of situation you're in. The part where he sings, "Cuz I love the adrenaline in my veins" speaks to my soul every time!

Glow In The Dark Easter Eggs.jpg

That's right, egg hunting is getting more advanced! How cool would it be for kids to take on the special tradition with a challenge inside a dark indoor room filled with glowing Easter eggs? Very cool! I wish that idea was around when I was a kid!

I figured the title of the movie would be appropriate for the holiday theme! Minus the sexual references and cuss words ...

Favorite Saying: "What if we said, 'She is beautiful, but so am I," instead of, "She is beautiful and how do I measure up that?"

How nice would it be if we all repeated this to ourselves on a daily basis? It's time we use this as a reminder that we are all beautiful and that beauty does not require meeting specific standards!

Favorite Fall Treat: Pumpkin Pie French Toast

Favorite Outfit

Look how funky and retro this outfit is, I would totally wear this! I love the color combination especially. This is something I could imagine seeing at New York Fashion Week, where I really wish I was at right now instead of working on homework for classes!

Favorite Wedding Photo

Dancing in the Woods.jpg

Celebrating a life-long marriage by dancing in a field of weeds, could this not be any more romantic? Although I suppose adding some more colorful flowers would add a nice touch.

Favorite Vlogger: Dani Austin

Not to sound like a creepy fangirl, but I really want to be her best friend! She's so adorable and has such a great taste in style. I'm determined to buy that Free People striped sweater once it goes on sale! Not only does she post great videos based on fashion and beauty but also focuses on building self-confidence, dealing with anxiety, and trusting God which I love and believe we need more people like her. Plus, she just got engaged and I could not be more happy for her!

Favorite Agenda

I just bought this for college from Target and I am IN LOVE with it, it's so organized and fierce-looking! If you want to learn more about it, click the link to my latest blog post: Handy Dandy College Supplies

Favorite Song: "Hold Me" by Fleetwood Mac

This song is sweet, calming, and a perfect simple transition from summer to fall in song style, at least if you ask me. You should be able to find it in my fall playlist on Spotify!

Favorite Quote: "The ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that do."

Quote.jpg

I just discovered this quote recently while browsing around Pinterest and it may be my new favorite out of all the quotes that I use for inspiration. It's a reminder to those who think their dreams are bizarre that they won't change the world unless they chase their so-called bizarre dreams. Don't limit yourself, be bold and change the world the way that your imagination tells you to!

Favorite Shoes: Burgundy Velvet Block Heels

Burgundy Velvet Block Heels.jpeg

I've been obsessing over block heels lately, specifically these burgundy velvet ones from Francesca's. I feel like it would be best to buy black ones to wear to anything, but these ones stand out boldly and look so glamorous. These would be the perfect shoes to wear to a fancy party or event in the fall!

Even though it's not fall aka scented candle season yet, I'm obsessing over this summer scented candle from Yankee Candle. The candle is described on the website as " a warm breeze of soft flowers and fresh green fields that captures the sweet innocence of childhood summer days playing in the backyard."

You guys know how obsessed I was with my giant pink donut pool float last year, which I still have and still obsessed with. Now I'm fawning over this ice cream pool float I saw Alexys Gabrielle Johns, one of my favorite social media influencers, post on her Instagram for the Fourth of July. Look how comfy and adorable it looks, and it's pink!

Favorite Bronzer: Cargo_HD

This brownish pinkish bronze highlighter is probably my favorite item from the FabFitFun summer box, I've already used it three times! It blends so well with my skin and looks so natural and shiny after I blend it in with a little foundation powder.

Favorite Song: Big Girls Don't Cry by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons

My parents and I along with a few friends of ours saw a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons parody band last weekend at an Italian festival and I heard this song for the first time. Now I can't stop replaying it!

Favorite Movie: Wonder Woman

This might be my new favorite movie, it was amazing! Even know I'm on Team Marvel and not Team DC, I loved learning about Wonder Woman's backstory and watching her fight bad guys in a world where only men could fight. Gal Gabot is my new girl crush, she's so badass!
