Honestly, what is a good summer break without a trip to the cinema and delicious popcorn?
Welcome to my summer movie review blog post! I saw a lot of big blockbuster hits this season, and I recommend them all! Before you go see them, read about my thoughts about the ones I saw and then you can decide whether to go see them or not! But they’re all pretty positive, so I wouldn’t be worried about being disappointed or spoiled.
Normally I do separate posts for movie reviews. But since I saw more than one movie this summer, I decided to put them all together into one and rate them. So enjoy!
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
I really liked Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. It wasn’t as good as Jurassic World obviously, but it was worth watching. There was a lot of thrilling action, likeable characters (except for the villains), and of course, the dinosaurs. This movie was also more intense, like the first half was more adventure-like while the other half was more scary! But thankfully I didn’t have nightmares the following night, and dinosaurs don’t really scare me that much.
And of course, Chris Pratt looked as good looking as always. As silly as it sounds, the movie makes me want to go on an adventure with him to save dinosaurs! I'm so jealous of Bryce Dallas Howard, who, by the way, is BADASS in this movie and I love it!
On a scale of 1-10, I would give this movie a rating of 6/10.
Ant-Man and the Wasp
I LOVED Ant-Man and the Wasp! It was full of hilarious jokes and one-liners, exciting Marvel action, and a great storyline. The movie takes place right after the events of Captain America: Civil War, when Scott Lang is placed under house arrest for getting involved with Steve Rogers. I really enjoyed watching this movie, I think I liked it even more than the sequel! And Evangeline Lilly is badass as the Wasp. I think she may be one of my top favorite superheroes now!
Also make sure to stay for the mid-credits and post-credits, they’re very important. I won’t go into too much detail, but there’s a big hint that sets up Avengers 4 …
On a scale of 1-10, I would give this movie a rating of 8/10.
The Incredibles 2
I think it’s relevant enough to say this movie was INCREDIBLE! I was so excited to see this movie and I’m so happy that I got to! Not only was it action-packed and funny but also allowed me to relive my childhood. What’s interesting is that it’s been fourteen years since the first movie came out and literally nobody has aged since. You would think by now their kids would be older than the last movie, but that wasn’t the case at all. It was; however, nice to see that none of the characters changed and it was like watching the first movie all over again. That’s the beauty of Disney and Pixar characters I guess!
There were so many great things about the sequel: Jack Jack’s superpowers, Elastigirl’s new badass solo job, new superheroes, and of course, the only and only Edna. Let’s face it, there would be no Incredibles 2 without Edna.
On a scale of 1-10, I would give this movie a rating of 10/10.
