Happy Birthday to America! It's been two hundred and forty years since our country became independent and free, so it's best to celebrate that victory! Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays because it's celebrated in the summer and everyone is joyous no matter what the day brings. Recently, I have discovered a bunch of songs that I want to put on a playlist for a 4th of July party. They all capture the sense of dignity and pride that our country shares each and every day. I think having a playlist of awesome American-related songs is essential for any 4th of July party, or just to celebrate our amazing country. How blessed our we!
Here are my top ten picks for songs that are relevant to the upcoming holiday!
1.) "Born in the U.S.A" by Bruce Springsteen
If just love Bruce Springsteen, there is no bad song of his. This song allows me to embrace my independence and to feel blessed to live in a free country. It's definitely a perfect choice to burst out during this holiday.
2.) "America" by Neil Diamond
Another great song that greatly represents the freedom of our proud country. I love Neil Diamond, and this is one of my favorite songs of his. I love the positive interpretation of the history of immigration to the USA, it makes a traditional patriotic song.
3.) "God Bless The U.S.A." by Lee Greenwood
I've known this song since I was a baby, and it's always stuck with me. It makes me understand how important and amazing it is to have people who fight and stand up for our rights as an independent country. It is so powerful and in-depth, there's no way you can celebrate Independence Day without playing this song.
4.) "Party in the U.S.A" by Miley Cyrus
Because a 4th of July celebration is literally a party in the U.S.A.!
5.) "Firework" by Katy Perry
What is a firework-used event without a song about fireworks?! Katy Perry is a gem, I love her music and this especially is one of my favorite songs ever. It urges people to be free by letting our light shine bright, like a firework! We are all originals and children of God, so ignite your light and spread the love.
6.) "Chicken Fried" by Zac Brown Band
There is a sense of American joy that makes this song patriotic. As Zac Brown himself would say, it's the little things in life that mean the most, like fried chicken!
7.) "American Girl" by Bonnie McKee
Hot blooded, all American girl!
8.) "Home" by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes
One of my favorite songs at the current moment. Why not for this list? Because America is home!
9.) "Made in America" by Toby Keith
Country music and patriotism make a great combination. No need to describe why this song is relevant to the holiday, hence the title and lyrics.
10.) "All-American Girl" by Carrie Underwood
This song is so sweet. I love how it tells the story of a father's America daughter who goes through life the way she dreams of it and the way her father wants her to be happy. Also, Carrie Underwood is literally perfect!
