10 Favorite Songs of February

Hey, guys !

Can you believe February is practically over already? 2016 is already flying by, it literally felt like yesterday was Christmas! Luckily on the bright side, the weather is getting better and good ol' summer will be here in no time!

On the other note, I will state that this February has been pretty awesome. I think this is the happiest I have been at college. I love all my friends, the classes/studying isn't super crazy (at least sometimes, it varies). I'm very thankful for God for granting my wish and allowing me to love college, I'm in love my life more than I have ever been! And because of my positivity, I have been listening to a bunch of songs that put me in a good mood. So I thought I might share some of my favorites for those of you who need a feel-good song:

1.) "Alive" by Hillsong

Hillsong is one of my new favorite bands, and it is the music that my friends and I listen to a lot. I love music that shows appreciation towards Jesus and how much he makes us feel free and blessed. This song has helped me overcome stress and to appreciate how much God has done to get me where I am, and I feel more strong and free-spirited than ever. So thank Jesus for making me truly "alive".

2.) "Stressed Out" by Twenty-One Pilots

You've probably have heard this song over a hundred times on the radio already. I enjoy Twenty-One Pilots' music, especially this song. It sounds kind of depressing, but the beat and rhythm always puts me in a good mood.

3.) "When We Were Young" by Adele

Adele's voice is glorious, I would listen to all of her songs on her albums! Every song is just so meaningful and deep, and I think she tells a very good story with a powerful voice.

4.) "Choctaw County Affair" by Carrie Underwood

I've been in love with Carrie Underwood and her music for almost ten years now. She's so classy, spiritual, and has a perfect country-singing voice. This is one of my favorite songs of hers right now because I just love the tempo and the country style of it, she sings it perfectly. I'm so excited because I will be attending her "Stories on the Road" concert this coming May, it's two days before my birthday!

5.) "What I Did For Love" by Josh Groban

Josh Groban literally has the voice of an angel, it makes me want to cry of happiness and jealousy at the same time! This of course is my absolute favorite rendition of "What I Did For Love", he makes it so dramatic and full of power. I sometimes wish Josh Groban would sing me to sleep ...

6.) "Never" by Moving Pictures

My dad has always been obsessed with 80's music, which is why it's one of my favorite types of music, having grown up with it. I have a playlist on Spotify that is based off of some of my favorite 80's song entitled "The 1980's Club" (inspired by 80's classic The Breakfast Club). One of the songs I have been listening to the most this month is "Never" by Moving Pictures, which is featured in one of Kevin Bacon's iconic dance scenes in Footloose. This is a very good song for workout or just a great pump of motivation/inspiration!

7.) "Crazy Youngsters" by Ester Dean

Of course this song is awesome because it was featured in Pitch Perfect 2! But also it has a great message about enjoying life as it is currently, and to have fun while it goes by. It's a perfect song to dance to, which is basically what the entire music video involves!

8.) "O Children" by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

This song has a slow and steady rhythm, it's really great for slow dances. These days I have been becoming interested in a lot of Indie, soft music that helps me concentrate while I study or blog. Special note - This song was featured in one scene of Harry Potter and the Dealthy Hallows: Part 1

9.) "Stand By You" by Rachel Platten

My mom recently introduced me to this song, and I've listened to it over ten times already. It has a  very heartwarming and positive message, and it allows me to know that someone always has my back, whether it's a family member, friend, or God.

10.) "Confident" by Demi Lovato

I think the title is self-explanatory to why it's awesome. By the way, this is a perfect song for a hardcore workout!
