I have great news for you meditation gurus out there ... there are lavender pillows for your eyes! They're so relaxing. BlueKnot in Cincinnati was kind enough to send one out for me to try out and share on my blog and Instagram. I now use them every time I mediate and as I pray before I go to bed. It's so pure, soothing, and smells really good! It came in great use just recently especially, for one of those days where it feels like you hit rock bottom ...
So my mom and I were supposed to leave for Fort Myers for a quick weekend with my dad, who was already in Orlando ready to pick us up. I was so excited and ready to relax in 80 degree weather after what felt like a long ass winter. We were planning to see two of our friends who own a house out there and they were going to show us around. Plus, I had the chance to take a quick stress relief from school! We leave at 5 in the morning and I'm already wearing my floppy hat and a crop top underneath my winter coat. I say to my mom, "In a few hours, we'll be sitting my the pool in the hot Florida sunshine!"
We got to the Akron-Canton Airport at 5:45 am. First of all, let me tell you that this is a small airport and rarely super busy. Our flight gets delayed FOUR times. We kept walking back and forth through security and check-in desks. We had also found out that a flight from the day before delayed for almost over twenty-four hours. It got to the point where we finally gave up and decided to drive back home. My dad flew back home shortly after. It just wasn’t worth it for one short weekend only.
There are always those days when you’re constantly going back and forth to the point when you become so overwhelmed and frustrated, and today was one of those days. I’ve always dealt with a great amount of anxiety for as long as I can remember. I tend to overthink and stress out about almost everything, there’s just no off button for my brain. But then I tell myself, “Shit happens, just be grateful for what you already have” and I feel there’s less loads of negativity on my shoulders.
Thank the Lord for meditation! Practicing it has helped me relax much more now. Even just taking 10 deep breaths makes a whole difference. This lavender eye pillow by @cincyblueknot has been super beneficial for my meditation practices and before I go to bed every night. I feel so much more calm and at peace. I highly recommend trying it out whether you meditate or not, it’s amazing and works for everything! You’ll feel so much for relaxed and at peace with your mind and body.
