A while back ago, I discovered YouTube vloggers who would demostrate their nighttime routines, and a popular theme was based on Christmas/the winter season. Even though I am also a YouTuber, I am not at the point where I can film my nighttime routine (yet). So with that being said, I will demonstrate my Christmas nighttime routine in typed words on my blog!
After a long busy day, the first thing I like to do is to put on some comfy clothes. After many hours of wearing skinny jeans and heels, it's time to throw on the sweatpants and large festive sweater!
I'll then eat dinner with my parents. My mom is a healthy cook, so she'll cook grilled chicken and veggies every now and then. Sometimes we even just get Chinese takeout, depending on our mood. But later on, once I've fully digested, I like to make a warm cup of tea or hot chocolate (depending on my mood again). With the outdoor temperature dropping down, it makes me crave for more hot drinks. Sometimes if I'm hungry, I'll also have a tiny snack to go with my drink. With Christmas around the corner, I like to cherish the wonderful tradition of holiday snacks by making a light batch of Pillsbury Christmas tree cookies. If you've never had a Pillsbury cookie in your life, you're missing out big time! They're basically crack cocaine (even though I've never used crack cocaine and never will, all I'm saying is that the cookies are super addicting).
While I'm waiting for my tea or hot chocolate to be fresh and ready, I like to put on some holiday tunes from Spotify as I wait. I have a lot of favorites, but right now my top go-to holiday songs would have to be "Angels We Have Heard On High" by Josh Groban & Brian McKnight and "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Seth MacFarlane and Sara Bareilles.
This is the part of the night where I work on getting the rest of everything else on my to-do list, whether that may be writing a new blog post or replying to emails. And since it's Christmastime, I like to throw on a classic TV special or movie. It always varies every night. Sometimes I like to watch cute cheesy Hallmark movies or some of the classics from my childhood, from How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (the cartoon version) to Elf. Nothing makes me more happier this time of year to get cozy on the couch with my dogs and watch a great movie while working, drinking, and eating.
Taking my makeup off is both the best and worst part of my day. Usually it's the best because it feels so good to clean my face after a long day, but it sucks when I'm having a really good makeup day. Goodbye to my perfect eye-winged eyeliner that took over ten minutes to make even!
I remove my makeup with a Neutrogena makeup removal wipe. Then, I massage my face with Purity Made Simple face cleanser by Philosophy. Once the hard part is over, I then wash my face with warm water before moisturizing it with my face moisturizing cream and eye lift cream, both by EVER Skin.
After that, I like to get more relaxed before I hit the sheets by taking a hot bath. Seriously, what is winter without a warm bath indoors while it’s snowing outside? With Christmas getting closer, I'm using the Christmas Sweater bath bomb by LUSH Cosmetics. It’s a pretty pink/orange combination fizzer and smells so sweet, like a fresh from the laundry festive sweater! And since I have an obsession with scented candles, I use my espresso scented candle from Anthropologie, one of my favorites for winter. When I take my bath, I either read a book I’m currently reading or wear a face mask as I sit back full of warm comfort in the water.
And last but not least, I brush my teeth. I don't think I need to explain how that works, it's common sense. Then, I turn on some Christmas lights in my room, say my nighttime prayers, and hop into my comfy bed to get plenty of sleep before another busy day.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my winter break/holiday nighttime routine! Let me know down in the comment section about how you like to spend your nights during the coziest and most joyful time of year!
