The New Year

As they say, new year = new me! Although, I am still pretty much the same person as of right now, and I hope to be forever more.

I cannot believe we are already in 2017, time just flies by! It feels like yesterday was February of 2015 when I was almost done with my senior year in high school and I found out that Emma Watson was going to play Belle in the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. Since then, I have been anticipating for 2017 to come just so I could see the movie! Now it's already the middle of January this year and the movie comes out in less than sixty days!

Of course, I'm excited for much more this year than just one highly anticipated movie. I will be turning twenty-one in May, I'll finally be legally allowed to drink wine and that's something worth celebrating! My sister is also graduating college that same month, so I'm very excited to watch her receive her diploma and make success in the upcoming future. Plus, I finally got approval to start Malone University's first ever fashion club! I cannot wait to start planning meetings and cool events for the campus. It was also give me a great opportunity to prove myself as a leader!

And on a little side note, Amine's song "Caroline" has over 68 million views on YouTube for its music video, so for me that's pretty cool to have my name in a song title popular worldwide!

But truly, my biggest goal for this new year is to become not only a better person but a better version of myself. I consider myself a kind person to begin with, but I want to work on being more giving and considerate of other people's feelings. I want to volunteer more, stand up for others more, and be an inspiring leader to others. I also want to take action this year by becoming more bold and overcoming my anxiety as well as helping other people who struggle with mental health issues.

I know my anxiety will never go away fully, everyone lives with some extent of anxiety. But this year I want to make it my goal to worry less and to enjoy the moments that I am in before they pass. I become so emotionally exhausted when my anxiety level rises, and it makes it harder to confront people even if they are friends or relatives. I also compare myself with other people way too much. It's not good for mental health at all, especially since God is the one who made me in His image just the way He wants me to be.

I also get so overwhelmed with time management, even when I'm not that busy. With anxiety, it feels like you have one thousand things to get done when in reality you only have two or three. It also always feels like you're forgetting something important, such as a big homework assignment or something you were supposed to pack for a trip. I believe that if I begin to let my anxiety go a little more, I won't feel like my life is constantly unbalanced. I do also want to work on my time management, that could be really beneficial!

I really do believe that this can be the year that I control my anxiety and show off my bolder side. I often worry that I'm too much of a people-pleaser and it might make other people believe that I'm weak and will say yes to anything and anyone, but that is definitely not true. I have a voice and I can stand and speak what's on my mind. If you know me personally, you know how strong I am (and very sassy). My college friends have once referred to me as "spunky", and that honestly is one of my favorite words that I have ever heard someone use to describe me. I like being spunky because it means that I am a very confident and positive person, even though sometimes I don't feel that way. I want to continue to be spunky, as well as gain more spunk by the end of the year!

Even though I know that I am a positive person on the outside and inside, I need to improve my positive attitude. There are many times when I am doubting myself and it feels like there is no hope left inside of me. I know God has big plans for me, and I need to trust Him.  Therefore when I put faith in Him, I need to be positive. I will begin to focus on seeing the glass half full rather than empty and not let any form of negativity bring me down.

To sum up, my main resolution for this year is to be more mentally healthy and to give myself more freedom of choice. But of course I have many minor resolutions as well, such as travel to new places, eat healthier, do more meditation practices, make new friends, pray more, read more, help others, get better grades, work hard to make my blog grow, work hard in general, take time to relax, and to continue to follow my passions. I really do believe that many of my biggest dreams will be accomplished this year. All it takes is a little bit of faith and dedication!

2016 was by far the best year of my life, despite many people saying that it was a terrible year. Honestly, I have to disagree. I'm also pretty sure that 1665 was a lot worse when everyone caught the plague and died. Just saying.

The way I see it is that as I grow older, I think the years get better. So many memories and accomplishments are made and the upcoming years offer even more exciting opportunities to look forward to. I am determined that 2017 will be an amazing year with plenty of new chances, accomplishments, memories, and a great opportunity to start becoming a better person and to live a happier and more healthy life.

Just remember to live in the moment as much as possible this year will fly by, and I'm serious! I couldn't believe how fast 2016 was! When you take time to appreciate every wonderful new day that God has gifted you with, you will start to live life to the fullest. I believe that is what everyone's new years resolution should be.

Once Upon A December

There's something about the month of December that is so wondrous and enchanting, and that's not only because of the holiday season. Despite the fact that the cold weather can be irritating, it is still a beautiful month that must be cherished, especially since it's the last month of the year.

As 2017 comes around the corner and the chills start to grow, I'm taking my time to absorb the last days of December as much as possible. For Christmas, I got a lot of new outfits and accessories that I am very excited to share, and I want to show them soon before I go back to school in two weeks!

One of the gifts I got, and probably my most favorite, is an open-shoulder dress from Anthropologie. I love the material, the color, and how comfortable it is, it's not super tight at all. I'm happy that I now have an open-shoulder outfit considering that it's one of the most popular trends in the fashion world right now. It's a perfect outfit for December and the rest of the winter, it might even be good to wear every season if it's not too hot!

This jewelry may not be recently new, but it still looks fabulous with the dress. You don't want to go overboard with accessorizing, just keep it simple. Both the earrings and necklace are from Francesca's.

I'm so in love with my new wedges from Anthropologie, great for the winter and perfect timing for when summer comes around! They are very comfortable and keep feet warm in the chilly weather. I'm relieved because these were the last shoes available and they came in my size, it was meant to be! There's many other similar shoes at the retail that you can find if you are interested, along with other stylish types of shoes as well.

Fall Fever

Finally, it's sweater (vest) weather!

I just had the best fall break! I didn't do a whole lot, but that sometimes is the best type of break. I slept in every morning, I ate healthier (cause you know college food), went shopping, saw Keeping Up With The Joneses (surprisingly very funny!), and of course spent a great quality time with my family and friends from my hometown. I was exhausted from midterm exams and doing homework all the time, so a four day break was very necessary. And plus, it gave me more time to write this blog post!

When my mom and I went shopping, I bought a few new clothes and I am eager to share them, I think they are just perfect for fall. And of course, what's a fall fashion photoshoot without pumpkins and everything fall-related?!

The first part of my outfit I want to share are my new pair of light blue ripped mom jeans from Anthropologie. They're perfectly slim and high-waisted, and they are so comfy! At first, when I tried them on, I thought they are a bit tight, but aren't all jeans like that at first? After a while, they became more easy to put on and now I can last throughout the entire day without feeling one bit uncomfortable. I also finally have a pair of jeans that are more ripped, so that makes me very happy!

Everything at Anthropologie is twenty percent off at the moment, so it's best to buy these jeans as soon as possible!

My shoes, actually technically my mom's shoes, are designed by Børn and can be bought from Nordstrom. They are so comfy and chic, I'm going to have a can a pair for myself that I can wear all the time. Mom jeans and shoes worn by my mom, it's definitely obvious where I get my fashion sense from.

Of course, I have to prepare for the chilly weather with a black long sleeve shirt from Target (designed by Merona), a black choker necklace from Francesca's, Ray Bay half frames from Sunglass Hut, and my new favorite gray sweater vest from Apple Tree. The vest is probably one of my new favorite fashion pieces for fall. I love how long it is and the soft material it has. It looks great with shirts, pants and dresses. Plus, it has pockets!

Fall is a beautiful and pleasant time of the year that must be cherished every second as the leaves continue to fall and pumpkins continue to grow. When you have the chance, go on a beautiful fall hike or go to a farm and pick some of the best pumpkins to carve or eat. Also, find that one outfit, whether dressy or comfy, that makes you feel confident, lovely, and expresses the beauty of fall and what it means to you.

Make sure to bundle up though, it's getting cold out there!

Summer Lovin'

Hello, lovelies! Happy June, at last!

I am a little bummed that spring almost over, which means there won't be as many more flowers or mild temperature for about another year, unless if you live in a garden of course. But I am super excited about summer finally coming. The weather will be so much more nicer and warmer, which is a great excuse to wear shorts and skirts! Summer is a great time for me to relax, blog, travel, spend time with family and friends, listen to country jams, and so much more fun things to do. The best part, personally, is picking out new styles of clothing to wear for the sunny season!

I just recently stocked up on some new clothing brands from some of my favorite stores, and I am  very satisfied with my purchases. The dress that I am wearing in this blog is a Printemps Linden shirtdress from Anthropologie, and it may be one of the best summer dresses I have ever owned. It fits very well for both my weight and height. I especially love the blue color tone, it is so flattering and adorable. It kind of looks like a dress that Audrey Hepburn or Kate Middleton would wear, it also kind of has an Alice in Wonderland look to it. It's a perfect short gown for picnics, festivals, and exploring a city!

For shoes, I included my pair of jeweled snake sandals from Dillard's, designed by Antonio Melani Sonoran. I've had these shoes for a while now, so they are no longer in stock. But they are still in great shape, and you can probably find similar pairs in the link down below.

Another purchase that I am super stoked about are these half-frame sunglasses from Urban Outfitters. They were only $15, so I just had to purchase them! Fashion tip: if you see something super cute that is super cheap and that you'll get a lot of use out of, do not resist and make that damn purchase!

I seriously do love these new frames, I've been wanting a pair like these since last summer. I love the vintage-look and it goes perfect with every outfit. It does, however, not come with a case, so it's probably a good idea to find one so that the frames don't break.

But giving you a fair warning, I did some research and it said these glasses do contain some sort of chemical that the state of California says may cause cancer or birth defects. I wouldn't be too concerned, however, it probably is not a super powerful chemical, but just in case for your concern.

I also just bought some new beauty products from Ulta Beauty that will be in great use for this summer. One of the major products that I got is a new harlequin red lipstick made by Tarte, which I am absolutely in love with at the moment. It may be a bit dark, but it still looks natural on lips. It's also perfect for anyone who gets super tan in the summer. Plus, the product also comes with a red lip gloss on the other side!

Lastly, I thought I would share my new necklace that Natalie gave me. It has a pink cupcake charm with my first name first initial on another charm, and it is so cute! Natalie gave it to me as a best friend gift. She has the same necklace as well, as a way to have each other's sweetness when we are not together. It is a sweet reminder that I will always have when I miss her, and I love this gift dearly. Thank you, my beautiful best friend!

I hope you enjoyed this latest fashion post, and make sure to stayed tuned for summer style posts to come! Comment down below if you have any questions or concerns! :)

Moral in Floral

Hey, guys!

Sorry for the long delay, I was so busy studying for final exams all last week and taking them this week. I'm so exhausted, literally. So much studying and writing to do in so little time! But thankfully, now they are all over and I am officially on summer break! Which means ... more blog posts! Yay!

On an even brighter, it is May! It's one of my favorite months. It's the the time of the year when spring really looks the most beautiful, no classes, the weather is a lot warmer, and it's my birthday month! I'm going to be turning twenty-years old in fifteen days, oh my word.

I have a ton of blog ideas planned for May as well as this coming summer, along with the help of my newly blogger partner, Natalie Hillyer! (Go check out her website and subscribe) I'm super excited for these next few months that I have off, so let me start off with a fresh new fashion blog for May!

This is my Saraid Dress that I bought from Anthropologie during my trip to New York City. I figured it would be perfect for May because of the floral design. It was made by HD in Paris, which is one of the store's biggest fashion designers. I love the colors, it's a good fit size, it's the bottom is very flowly, and I bought it for a very good price of $40!

I do not have any pictures of the shoes I am wearing, but I have on my black pumps from J. Crew. Depending on the occasion, any shoe that matches the colors or the event would be perfect.

As for jewelry, I do not think you need to accessorize too much with this outfit. I usually go for smaller amounts of jewelry pieces. Earrings, not too big or crazy. Rings, very simple. Bracelets, none (due to very long sleeves). Necklaces, I think this is a good dress to wear one with. But a big sparkly and colorful necklace probably would not be the best option. I recommend a simple chain with a pendant, like the one I am wearing down below. It's gold and has my first initial on it. I got it from Urban Outfitters, and I wear it all the time!

I feel so free after finishing this semester! College is tough, but I love it. Now I am ready for a nice, long summer break! So stay tuned for more posts to come! And remember, keep sparkling! :)
